New Delhi: Dreaded terrorist Abdul Karim Tunda alias Abdul Quddooss has reportedly told the Delhi police that underworld don Dawood Ibrahim is currently in Karchi, Pakistan and that he does not step out of the country much as his movements are restricted by intelligence agency ISI.
The Lashker-e-Taiba’s bomb expert is also learnt to have told his interrogators that he introduced 26/11 Mumbai attack mastermind Hafiz Saeed to Dawood when the latter was in Karachi in 2002. While Tunda confessed that he knew about the 2008 Mumbai attack, he said that he did not train extremeists for it was was not part of any exercise related to the attack.
The Delhi police questioned Tunda at length to get more vital information.
A police official is learnt to have asked Tunda about his motive behind visiting India and who had asked him to do so. The official wanted to know whether Dawood or Saeed was behind Tunda’s movement and whether the terror factory across the border was planning another attack on India.
Sources told this newspaper that the officials also asked him about Dawood’s current whereabouts and Saeed’s current strategy. Tunda was also probed about the number of people he has trained and the number of terror attacks he has carried out so far.
On Saturday, 70-year-old Tunda, one of India’s most wanted terrorists and mastermind of over 40 bombings in the country, was arrested by the Delhi Police after being on the run in several countries for 19 years.
