Of late, the malady of several Congress leaders speaking on various issues, particularly on Modi, has afflicted the party. This has often given the impression that the Congress has no clarity in attacking the Gujarat chief minister , and the party has faced a lot of flak on the social media. Rahul’s media management seeks to eliminate this impression as well as disparate voices within the Congress on various issues.
Rahul appointed two media coordinators, Deepak Amin and S . V . Ramani, who have been tasked to rein in leaders suffering from foot-in-mouth disease. Leaders will have to take permission from the coordinators before speaking on an issue. Disciplinary action will be taken against those who break this rule.
Even leaders participating in debates telecast on news channels will have to get a clearance beforehand from the coordinators. Only those speakers who have clarity and authority on a particular subject will be allowed for the TV debates.
